New name, same community: moving to charlemos.club
Charlemos is getting its own domain. What changes, what stays the same — and what Fediverse users should know.
The Charlemos community currently runs at friendica.tangoverse.org. We are planning a move to charlemos.club — same server, same accounts and content, just the name we meant from the start.
What is changing
- The public address of the community will be
https://charlemos.club. - Fediverse handles change from
@name@friendica.tangoverse.orgto@name@charlemos.club. - This website (www.charlemos.club) remains the information site: help, contact, legal pages — separate from the Friendica application.
What stays the same
- No server migration — only a domain change on the same infrastructure.
- Your accounts, posts, photos, and groups are preserved.
- The character of the community: no algorithm feed, no ads, real tango conversation.
Two addresses, two roles

Important for the Fediverse
In ActivityPub, identity is tied to the domain. A domain change means new handles technically — even when the same people are behind the accounts.
- Followers on Mastodon, Pixelfed, and other servers may no longer see your posts under the old address automatically.
- You may need to be re-followed or ask followers to subscribe to
@name@charlemos.club. - Old links to
friendica.tangoverse.orgshould remain reachable via redirect — details will follow with the maintenance window.
This applies to every Fediverse instance on a domain change, not just Charlemos.
What you can do
- Update your bookmark — after the move, save
https://charlemos.club. - Tell your contacts — especially if you cross-post or have many Fediverse followers.
- Watch for the maintenance email — we will announce a short window (about 30–60 minutes) when the community may be offline.
Timeline
The exact date will be announced by email to registered users. Until then, friendica.tangoverse.org remains the active address.
